Kristin Hickey is named MRS Research Hero

Now in its second year, the Market Research Society Heroes accolade spotlights the unsung heroes of the industry.  We're delighted to announce that the MRS have named Kubi Kalloo's founder and CEO, Kristin Hickey, as one of their heroes for 2022.

Kristin doesn’t just concentrate on what is needed to run a successful business. She is willing to apply her outstanding intellect and energy to support less advantaged members of the community and help others develop. Kristin uses her achievements and accolades in the market research industry as a platform for supporting good causes. She gives up her personal time to add meaningful value to the arts, social enterprises, and charities – and in so doing she is pioneering methodologies that showcase the market research industry as a force for good. 

Currently, Kristin is investing her own time in the charity YES which supports youth clubs and sport to engage and develop at-risk young people living in the most deprived boroughs of London.  Specifically, she has developed a framework that the charity can use to quantify the return on investment of donations, and in turn quantify the value of the charity’s work. It is an innovative methodology that Kristin plans to share with other charities seeking to demonstrate the impact they are making.

With her empathetic mindset, Kristin believes in inclusivity with everything she does, ensuring that everyone's voice is heard in the customer feedback process. She is always reaching out to capture the experience of those who are disadvantaged in society – those whose voice is not always heard.

In addition, she believes in always taking a stance herself, and embracing opportunities that drive equality, diversity and inclusion. Kubi Kalloo’s 2021 MRS Conference piece #doesmytitlematter was a call to action for the industry to get involved in conversations that matter – and to take a stance, with authenticity.  It spoke to an emotional intelligence that is at the heart of purposeful insight, using evidence to drive meaning and encourage the industry to make a difference.

Importantly this ethos and philosophy of making a difference is a feature of how Kristin runs Kubi Kalloo. There is always a focus on authenticity and championing diversity and inclusion. This is the golden thread that runs through the way she runs her company.  Kristin is an advocate for fringe voices. Kubi Kalloo is founded on the principle that people should harness their whole selves at work, and experience a culture of openness and respect.  

In sum, Kristin is a torchbearer for excellence and fairness. Kristin champions fresh thinking and encourages people to take risks and be heroes themselves.
